Local Action Groups

Todmorden boasts a remarkable number of volunteer-led projects and initiatives, reflecting the town’s proactive approach to community and environmental enhancement. Many of these groups aim to address climate-related issues, promoting sustainability through shared efforts and self-sufficiency.

The spirit behind these projects is one of community enrichment, showcasing the kindness that defines Todmorden. In these critical times for global climate action, these groups demonstrate the power of small-scale, local efforts. By making green choices, learning together, and supporting one another, individuals and communities can create meaningful change.

One of the best ways to tackle climate change is by building stronger communities and engaging in local efforts. As Margaret Mead famously said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

Many local groups are seeking volunteers to help improve the welfare of individuals, the community, and our environment. The Town Council encourages anyone wanting to make a positive impact to join and support these local volunteer groups.

If you or your organization would like to be added to this list, please contact Todmorden Town Council at [email protected].
