Todmorden Banking Hub Temporary Location Confirmed
After months of determination from Todmorden Town Council along with Calderdale Councillor for Todmorden, Diana Tremayne, LINK carried out a requested assessment of Todmorden, to determine whether the town would benefit from a Banking Hub.
The result of this assessment was “yes” and since then, Cash Access UK have been searching for an appropriate premises to occupy.
LINK are a not-for-profit organisation working in the public interest to ensure every corner of the UK can access cash, the Banking Hub search and set up is then carried out by Cash Access UK.
This week, Todmorden Town Council received an update from Cash Access UK with the confirmed temporary location to be at the Todmorden Learning Centre and Community Hub on Burnley Road. This temporary location will allow the Banking Hub to get up and running, whilst Cash Access continue their search for a permanent home in Todmorden.
Todmorden Town Council have been pushing for this Banking Hub due to the residents dissatisfaction with the closure of all the high street banks in town, resulting in a lack of face-to-face banking support which many of the townspeople rely on.
Tyler Hanley, Todmorden Town Councillor, who helped work on this project said “The confirmation of the location for an interim Banking Hub is welcome news. Todmorden Town Council has been working hard to bring back access to cash and current accounts ever since our last branch closed last year. We look forward to seeing these services up and running in the New Year.”
Naomi Crewe, Town Clerk for Todmorden Town Council said “We are really excited to receive this update from Cash Access UK. Todmorden Town Council have worked hard to ensure that Todmorden received this much need Banking Hub, and we are looking forward to seeing it in action”
The planned opening of the Banking Hub is set for early 2025, with the confirmed date yet to be announced.
