Community, voluntary and non-profit groups active in Todmorden looking to apply to the Town Council for grant funding are advised of an important update to our Discretionary Grants Scheme.
Historically, grant applications have been accepted at every monthly meeting of the Resources Committee, this has led to the annual grants budget being taken up very quickly at the start of the financial year leaving less capacity in the budget for applications that might have benefitted had their applications been submitted earlier on in the cycle.
To ensure fairness and equity in the consideration and potential award of grants by the Town Council, the annual budget for the award of grants will now be phased on a quarterly basis in equal amounts with grant awards being distributed across four funding rounds in each financial year.
For clarity, this means that going forward grant applications will be considered at four Resource Committee meetings in a single financial year rather than at every meeting of the Committee.
The tables show the dates of the Resources Committee meetings where grants will be reviewed in the remainder of the current financial year and next financial year. They also show the final deadline for submission of applications.
Organisations wishing to apply for a grant should take note of the dates below and factor these into their project funding timelines.
Organisations are reminded that applications will not be accepted where Grant Feedback on previous grant awards remains outstanding.
