Thursday 4 May 2023 is polling day in Calderdale; for us this marks the end of our current council’s four-year term and means that voters in Todmorden will vote to elect all 18 town councillors at the same time.
From 4 May 2023 all voters in England will need to show photo ID to vote at polling stations in some elections. This includes:
- Local elections
- Police and Crime Commissioner elections
- UK parliamentary by-elections
- Recall petitions
From October 2023 it will also apply to UK General elections.
A wide range of photo ID will be accepted, including passports, driving licences and cards with a PASS mark.
If you do not have an accepted form of photo ID, you can apply for a free voter ID document known as a Voter Authority Certificate.
